Artist Statement

Tacoma artist, Carrie J Foster, is probably best known for her design work with Shroom Brothers.  Local original art screen printer.  Her innate ability combine with her training to bring a varied style in design work as well as personal projects.   Her skill can also be seen on stage at the Lakewood Playhouse where she is the Lead Scenic Charge Artist.

Primarily working in graphite, gouache, inks and charcoal.  Recently adding sewing, papier mache sculpture and paper making as new outlets of inspiration.   Loving experimentation with new forms and learning new skills and mediums.  She has even self published two coloring books.  Her first love is drawing with graphite.

The content of her work varies from portraiture, nature illustrations and design to works tapping into the sacred, patterns as well as personal heritage.  Emotion drives some of the work with strong color usage and line style.  Rarely a message.  It is up to the viewer to think, and feel what they will!  Enjoy!
